London Design Festival, the Royal College of Art (RCA) is proud to introduce two new research centres to the public for the first time in an exhibition called Design <> Research. The exhibition will include ground-breaking projects that explore the future of mobility and materiality. Visitors will be able to meet the designers and researchers in person to understand how they use design skills and methods to research possible futures.

Design <> Research will showcase the latest innovations from the newly formed Burberry Material Futures Research Group and the Intelligent Mobility Design Centre at the RCA. Both groups work across disciplines and apply radical thinking to highlight creative approaches to the UK’s Grand Challenges including clean growth, the aging society, artificial intelligence and future mobility.

The exhibit had some epic materials and designs including Levi’s Commuter Trucker Jacket with Jacquard by Google, the Speedo LZR Racer whose material science broke world records for swimming, and Mi.Mu music gloves worn by Imogen Heap. Sensoree was honored to exhibit FleXo – bioresponsive inflatable – our flexible exoskeleton for healing touch.IMG_8212 (1)IMG_8237IMG_8216
