Yuri’s Night is a global space party “Using Space to Bring the World Together Since 2001.” This international party commemorates the launch of the first human into outer space, Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
“Circling the Earth in my orbital spaceship I marveled at the beauty of our planet. People of the world, let us safeguard and enhance this beauty — not destroy it!” — Yuri Gagarin, 1st human in space.
In 2017 Yuri’s Night had 106 Events in 29 Countries on 7 Continents.
We hope to see you dream, explore, and celebrate with us at the hundreds of YN events held around the world each April. Yuri’s Night is the World Space Party. Every April 12th we bring the world together to dream about where we’re going, explore where we are, and celebrate where we’ve been. The Whitesides, founded Yuri’s night in 2001!
In 2017, SENSOREE participated in two events! San Francisco Bay Area as well as Los Angeles.
We are honored to have Loretta Whitesides, the cofounder of Yuri’s night, wear the Mood Sweater at Yuri’s Night LA. Here she is glowing red/nervous with Apollo 9 Astronaut Rusty Schweikart. She looks like a greek goddess of space!
SENSOREE was also on location at Yuri’s Night – Bay Area at Chabot Space Center in Oakland, CA, USA. Kristin Neidlinger was a featured speaker and presented a SENSOREE demo in the planetarium.

Juli Lawless, an Aerospace Engineer and dancer, MC’d the evening and wore the SENSOREE Mood Sweater. We she her many colors from blue which is calm and focused to pink which is ruffled, excited.
SENSOREE also led a Sumo inflatables workshop!
